Parallel Route-Makwa

Makwa is bear in Ojibwa and a clan animal.  This mural was inspired by conversations with Elders of Batchewana First Nation and youth.
Many people felt that showing the clan animals were important. Showing harmony and sharing as well the specific colours to be used.

The women walking with Makwa is carrying her medicine pouch. The colours of her dress and the patterns of the bird come from dreams.
They walk together as helpers.
